CNC Rotary Tables – 4th Axis

A 4th-axis CNC rotary table adds programmable rotary movement to a conventional three-axis machining center. It allows the workpiece to rotate around one axis for multi-face machining, angular positioning, helical processing and continuous rotary cutting.

By reducing repeated manual repositioning, a 4th-axis rotary table can help shorten setup time, improve positioning consistency and complete more machining operations in one clamping.

 

CNC Rotary Tables – 5th Axis

Important CNC Rotary Table Specifications

A reliable quotation requires more than a table diameter. The following parameters should be reviewed before selecting a CNC indexer or rotary table.

Table Diameter

The table diameter affects fixture size, workpiece support and the space required inside the machine.

A larger table is not automatically the better choice. It must fit the machine envelope without interfering with the spindle, tool changer, guarding or machine travel.

Maximum Allowable Load

The total rotary-table load should include:
